This is a 12 week, 1:1 coaching program that takes compassionate horse owners from watching their horse brace and resist a syringe headed towards their mouth to seeing their horse say “yes!” to, and even enjoy, receiving oral medications through the power of positive reinforcement and cooperative care.
This isn’t about figuring out a better way to sneak a syringe into your horse’s mouth or getting them to stand still long enough to get the job done.
We are changing the entire experience of receiving oral medications for them!
I’ll show you how to take receiving oral meds from something your horse merely tolerates, actively avoids, braces against, or fights, to a predictable process they understand and want to be a part of.
You’ll learn how to guide them through the process, what to do when something doesn’t go as planned, and help them be willing participants for the medications they may need throughout the rest of their life.

Life Happens, and Every Team Is Different
Every horse and human team will progress at their own pace. You’ll receive new training tasks each week, but if your horse needs more time with a certain step or life gets in the way, that's ok.
The curriculum will keep moving and you’ll still be included in everything while continuing to work where you and your horse need more practice. You’ll also have two extra months with the curriculum after our 12 weeks together to finish up where needed.
Coaching and live support are included within the 12-week program. Continued 1:1 coaching can be purchased separately after the program ends if needed.
Why does this matter to me?
Hi, I’m Megan! I’m the positive reinforcement based trainer behind MC Cooperative Equine Training and a Fear Free Certified Professional.
I created the Cooperative Care Pathway to help compassionate horse owners go from feeling flustered, guilty, and helpless during vet, farrier, and daily handling to feeling connected and relaxed with a horse who says “yes!” to their necessary care.
The Oral Meds Edition is especially close to my heart.
I know firsthand just how stressful it can be when your horse desperately needs medication yet you simply cannot get it into them.
When I first got my horse, Jena, she was terrified of the vet, who didn’t even want her again as a patient. But after a good amount of convincing, I was told I need to give her an oral sedative before the appointment.

I was blindsided by how difficult she was to give medication to, and it turned into what felt like a war between us.
She would aggressively throw her head up as high as she could, thrash her neck and head around as she was desperately trying to get away, and she even reared as someone was trying to hold her head down. We could not get the sedative in her.
That fight broke my heart and I vowed to her to never put her through such a traumatic experience ever again.
Shortly after, I discovered clicker training and began using positive reinforcement training to completely change Jena’s experience with the syringe.
Eventually, the horse we once couldn’t wrestle oral meds into was voluntarily putting her mouth on the syringe. And that skill followed us throughout the rest of her life.
From giving her dewormer at liberty in her pasture to other necessary medications, giving oral meds became quick and easy. And when she needed omeprazole for 30 days straight, she continued to willingly participate day after day.
That’s that kind of transformation that made me so passionate about cooperative care in the first place.
Since then, I’ve helped my other horses and client horses through their own challenges especially with receiving oral medications. I’ve seen over and over again what a difference this seemingly small skill can make.
I’m now here to help you create that same type of transformation with your horse, whether they already run at the sight of a syringe or they tolerate receiving oral meds just fine, but you want them to actually enjoy it and be a part of that process.
